Barron Hill Alpacas offers classes in felting as
well as felted one of a kind products for sale. Feltmaking has
a rich history that dates back to the nomads of Asia and Mongolia,
the soldiers of Rome and the Warriors of China. In Scandinavia
felt is believed to have been used since the Iron age.
In todays world there is a revival of interest for
the fiber artist who enjoys working with textiles. Felting can
bring instant gratification as a project can be accomplished in
just a few hours producing a usable garment. These garments are
versatile and strong, hard-wearing and warm. The possibilities
are endless for using your creative artistic expression. The process
is simple and practical to do in your own home once you have the
basic skills. Our classes are usually on Saturdays from 11 till
4 pm with snacks included. Please contact us if you are interested
in participating and we will be happy to organize a class. Class
fee is $125.00 which includes materials to complete a hat.
